en-Reiki in Hospitals
- The healing art of Reiki is growing in popularity and acceptance in hospitals around the world as the medical community has begun to understand the effectiveness of this therapy. Also, patients are feeling increasingly satisfied with the combination of conventional treatment with that of Reiki. Today, many hospitals around the world include Reiki as a service.
- A research study conducted at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut concludes that Reiki treatments have resulted in an 86% improvement in patients' sleep, a 78% reduction in pain, an 80% reduction in nausea, and a 94% reduction in anxiety during pregnancy. 75% of patients in the study also said they "would definitely want to be treated again," as reported in the US newspaper USA Today in September 2012.
- Over 800 hospitals now offer Reiki as part of patients' treatment in the United States and it is estimated that nationwide this number is at least double. Below are some of the hospitals that include Reiki as an integral part of treatment.
